Job Description

Transit Driver 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars Lecanto, FL 34461 JOB The Transit Driver provides safe and timely operation of the Citrus County Transit vehicles. Observes all state and local traffic laws and all safety rules and adheres to time schedules. This position is “safety sensitive” and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment. The primary work schedule for this benefit-eligible part-time position is Monday through Friday, 11:30 AM to 6:00 PM, however, shift hours are subject to bid process.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Drives and/or operates a county vehicle or equipment and must obey all safety policies, and roadway rules and laws.

Loads and unloads, moves, and secures wheelchair; assists with infant, elderly, frail and disabled passengers while boarding and departing vehicles.

Completes pre trip and post trip inspections. Checks and fills fluids, lights, mirrors, tires, wheelchair lift, radio, body damage, etc.

Cleans and inspects vehicle before and after each run.

Reports accidents, keeps records and reports.

Communicates effectively with customers face-to-face while interacting positively with a variety of personalities internally and externally.

Performs work under stress and frequent interruptions.

Performs other duties as required.
