Grace Inspired Living, located in Bucks County, PA was formed in 2017 through the affiliation of the Lutheran Community at Telford and the Community at Rockhill. Guided by God’s love, Grace Inspired Living is dedicated to providing communities and services that enhance the lives of older adults in a supportive setting that values residents, employees, volunteers, and families.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under general supervision, operates a passenger van/bus for scheduled appointments for community residents, between the Community at Rockhill and surrounding medical centers/venues or trips.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Demonstrate knowledge of commercial driving laws and vehicle code statutes. Secures passengers’ wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trips. Operates radio or similar device to communicate. Prepares and maintains records and logs related to daily activities, vehicle inspections and others, as required. Inspects vehicles for safety and ensures compliance with established laws and regulations; reports mechanical defects as needed. Performs daily maintenance of the vehicles including refueling, checking fluid levels, and cleaning interior/exterior as needed. Reports need for emergency repairs to supervisor. Communicates effectively with residents, staff and supervisor regarding transportation matters. Maintains safe work conditions and complies with safety policies, practices and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondences. Deal effectively with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Exhibits dependability. Adheres to the Values and Expectations statement and element of the compliance program. Ability to perform duties as assigned. Exemplary driving record. Possess valid Class B commercial driver’s license with a passenger endorsement and an exemplary driving record.

MINIMUM PREFERRED

Education:

High school diploma and/or equivalent.

Experience:

Three to five years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Professional Membership, Licensures, Certifications:

Must possess valid Class B commercial driver’s license with a passenger endorsement and an exemplary driving record.
