Job Description
Water or Cement Speader Truck Driver- Union Position E. J. Breneman, L.L.C. Pennsylvania Job Summary The Commercial Motor Vehicle Truck Driver (Water Truck and/or Cement Spreader) will safely and efficiently deliver products and materials to designated jobsites in a timely and professional manner. Duties/Responsibilities
- Transport loads in a timely manner over required routes, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations.
- Operate commercial vehicles, including box trucks and other specified vehicles according to applicable state and federal transportation laws and regulations.
- Make safety a priority at all times.
- Adhere to all Company policies and jobsite rules.
- Skillfully maneuver truck (and trailer when applicable) into loading and unloading areas; follow crew signals.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials, using specialized equipment when warranted; return all equipment to designated area.
- Maintain bills of lading, and other required paperwork; deliver documentation to office or other appropriate staff when delivery is complete.
- Maintain electronic driving or paper logs.
- Perform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Facilitate routine service on trucks, which may include checking oil, water, gasoline, and air; report maintenance malfunctions to Fleet Manager.
- Ensure vehicle is kept clean.
- Communicate with Dispatch and/or jobsite Foreman as necessary.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate class and endorsements (Class B, tanker).
- Current DOT Medical Certification.
- Clean driving record with no history of major accidents or traffic violations.
- Unrestricted DOT Clearinghouse drug and alcohol record.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak and act professionally and courteously with vendors, customers and staff.
- Ability to remain focused in busy, congested environment.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation, logging systems.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must hold required commercial driver’s license appropriate for weight of vehicle to be operated.
- Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations.
- Union member.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds at a time.
- Frequent overnight/out-of-town travel may be required.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$32.15 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
