135-CRT-05-26 MTSS/ELA Intervention Support Orchard Middle School 1.0 FTE, Continuing Contract Beginning the 2026-2027 School Year
DESCRIPTION
Provide and/or oversee evidence-based teaching strategies for teaching literacy skills to students. Provide intervention for students who are below grade level in the area of literacy to support growth towards grade-level standards. Work with small groups of students based on academic need. Collaborate with grade-level PLCs and individual teachers to identify the literacy needs of all students, to set learning goals and targets, and to problem solve to develop best practice for continuous academic growth of students in literacy. Plan and prep instructional materials for para educators. Provide training on instructional strategies and delivery of instructional materials to para educators. Attend professional development to enhance knowledge of literacy. Maintain and submit accurate and up-to-date management records of the progress of all students. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Washington State certification with appropriate endorsement. Experience working with middle school students is preferred. PBIS experience is preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred. Technology knowledge is crucial. Good communication skills and ability to follow written and oral directions. Patient, flexible, self-motivated, positive social skills and a calm personality. Ability to relate well to students, parents, and staff. Able to work collaboratively with and take direction from program teaching staff. May require prolonged sitting or standing. Attendance and punctuality are critical for this position.
