POSITION SUMMARY
The NDT Trainee is responsible for actively participating in a structured training program to become certified in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). This role will be reporting to the department Supervisor and involves assisting with testing procedures, following safety regulations, and gaining hands-on experience in the field.
ESSENTIAL DUDTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Document participation in a training program for stated NDT method. Obtain experience under the direct observation of a Level 2 or Level in the same method. Gain experience under the direct observation of a Level 1 or instructor when approved by the responsible Level 3. Assist with NDT inspections but do not independently conduct tests or make accept/reject decisions. Support department staff as needed. Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICIATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED. Ability to communicate, read, and understand English. Ability to read blueprints and drawings. Ability to follow precise instructions. Ability to work around hazardous chemicals. Excellent hand-eye coordination. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Ability to multitask and willingness to work overtime as needed.
ITAR REQUIREMENT
Due to ITAR regulations, this position requires that the employee must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Walking/standing for prolonged periods. Exposure to heat, noise, and chemical fumes in production areas. Good hand-eye coordination and repetitive hand movements.
