Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Inventory Clerk to join our supply chain and warehouse operations team. In this vital role, you will oversee inventory accuracy, manage stock levels, and ensure seamless materials handling across our distribution centers. Your expertise in warehouse management systems, procurement, and data analytics will drive efficiency and support our commitment to delivering exceptional service. Duties Maintain accurate inventory records through diligent data collection and regular stock audits using warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP platforms such as AS400 or SAP. Conduct root cause analysis to identify discrepancies or inefficiencies in inventory control processes, implementing corrective actions promptly. Collaborate with procurement teams to manage sourcing strategies, negotiate supplier contracts, and optimize pricing to maximize cost savings. Support demand planning and forecasting efforts by analyzing historical data with tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Nielsen to anticipate stock needs accurately. Oversee shipping & receiving operations, including materials handling, order fulfillment, and coordinating with 3PL providers for timely deliveries. Utilize data mining and supply chain analytics to identify trends, improve stocking strategies, and enhance overall process efficiency. Operate forklifts and other materials handling equipment safely while adhering to safety protocols during heavy lifting tasks. Assist in category management by analyzing sales data and merchandising trends to optimize inventory assortments across retail channels. Contribute to process improvement initiatives by evaluating current workflows and recommending innovative solutions for warehouse distribution and inventory management. Skills Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles, warehouse distribution, and inventory control techniques. Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems (such as AS400), SQL, and data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau. Excellent data analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets for demand planning and logistics optimization. Experience with procurement processes, sourcing strategies, negotiation tactics, and supplier management. Familiarity with materials handling equipment including forklift operation; certification preferred. Analytical mindset with the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement process improvements effectively. Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures, order fulfillment workflows, and retail or e-commerce logistics. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills for collaborating across departments such as merchandising, production planning, and finance.
