1stShift Laser Operator Location:
Mesquite, TX Pay :
$15- 16/hr
Schedule:
Monday- Thursday
- 6 am
- 4:30 pm
Employment Type:
Contract to Hire Primary Purpose The Laser Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring laser cutting equipment to produce high-quality metal components according to production specifications. This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and safety while maintaining quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Duties and Responsibilities Operate CNC laser cutting machines to cut metal materials according to work orders and blueprints Load and unload raw materials and finished parts safely and efficiently Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and production specifications Perform machine setup, adjustments, and basic troubleshooting as needed Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure quality standards are met Measure parts using calipers, tape measures, and other precision tools Monitor machine performance and report equipment issues to maintenance or supervisors Maintain accurate production and quality records Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations Assist with material handling and other fabrication duties as needed Required Skills and Qualifications Previous experience operating laser cutting or CNC machinery preferred Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings Basic understanding of metal fabrication processes Familiarity with measuring tools and quality inspections Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain production accuracy Ability to work independently and in a team environment Basic computer and machine interface skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods Preferred Qualifications Experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment Forklift or overhead crane experience is a plus Knowledge of preventative machine maintenance procedures Work Environment Manufacturing facility with exposure to moving machinery, noise, and metal materials Required use of PPE including safety glasses, steel-toe boots, gloves, and hearing protection when applicable To be considered for this opportunity, please reach out to Trova Advisory Group by sending an email to msosnowska@gotrova.com with your resume, the position you are applying for, and a brief introduction.
