World Language Spanish Teacher Terms of Employment:
10 Month Employee (temporary if hired after contractual start date for teachers) Reports to:
Building Principal Minimum Qualifications:
Teacher of World Languages
  • Spanish Grades K-12 Meets certification requirements of the State of Delaware for secondary Spanish (World Language).
Strong content knowledge of secondary Spanish. Successful completion of Praxis II exams. Teacher who is designated Highly Qualified in Secondary World Language preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach Spanish to students in grades 9-12 Works cooperatively with all staff and parents Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior Strives to implement by instruction and action the district's mission statement. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation Establish and maintain open basis of communication with students, parents, staff and administration. Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day consistent with contract obligations. Performs other duties as assigned
