Salary:

$16.50/hour This posting will remain active until April 30, 2027, or until all positions are filled

Scope:

Under general supervision, assists in operations of food program, including hygiene, meal planning, preparation, record keeping and all kitchen operations; adhering to guidelines and public health regulations Reports to: Head Cook/Nutrition Director

Requirements:

Graduate from high school or equivalent; Knowledge of production or commercial food preparation preferred, cleaning techniques and/or childhood nutrition

Performance Responsibilities:

Prepare nutritious meals according to state and federal guidelines Prepare substitute items for children on restricted diets Ability to bake breads, rolls, desserts and use commercial equipment Maintain highest standards of safety and sanitation including but not limited to; practicing safe food handling techniques in food preparation and storage Maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen, including but not limited to freezers, coolers, pantries, floors and storage areas; washing all items used for food preparation Dishwashing duties as assigned Accurate recordkeeping of production sheets and food temperatures Ability to run cash stand and scan cards Basic clerical skills and computer skills Ability to handle emergency situations Frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds and maximum lifting of 50 pounds Physical capabilities of bending, standing and walking for prolonged periods and/or much of the work day Entails the consistent use of hand and feet controls with operation of food service equipment Capable of working in warm temperature surroundings Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with staff, students, vendors and other food agencies Completes all other duties as assigned Terms of employment: Refer to letter of agreement
