POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision and support of the Executive Director, the Camp Fuller Nurse will be the instrumental in supporting the health and wellbeing of the camp community. They will be responsible for supporting injuries, illness, physical and mental health of campers and staff. The Nurse will work with the Camp Director and Executive Director to decide best course of action for injured and sick campers and staff. The nurse will make the call when it is time to get outside help or support for the injured or sick party. Pay is based on level of certification and new vs returning staff.
Weekly Compensation:
$1200•1400 ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with our Nurse Practitioner, who holds our standing orders, and consult with them on camper and staff health and wellness, policies and procedures, and infirmary operation as appropriate The nurse will have one of two schedules to adhere to Live in the infirmary for a defined period of time and if there for more than 6 days, schedule 1 day off and one night off per week. Work as a sub for when the live in nurse is on time off Direct the infirmary Assistant in basic first aid of campers and staff and administrative tasks where appropriate Medication distribution to campers before and after meals and prior to bedtime Support in the management of CampDoc, our medical database, keeping track of camper injury and illness, medication distribution, and general incident reporting Work as a member of the Greater Camp Fuller Staff in creating a great camp experience for campers Support Camp Staff training in health and wellness related topics and to build rapport with the camp staff (as available) Uphold all policies and procedures of YMCA Camp Fuller including but not limited to Risk Management, Supervision, Child Protection, and Safety Standards. Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Holds an EMT certification or higher (RN preferred but not required) A desire to have a positive impact on the life of the youth and other staff at camp Experience working with youth or a willingness to learn Ability to lift 30 lbs or willingness to ask for help if not Ability to move around camp quickly enough to keep campers safe Strong comprehension and critical thinking skills to be able to respond to challenges and emergencies effectively Willingness to express challenges or struggles so they can be addressed by Camp Leadership Must hold a current First Aid/CPR/AED certification
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervision of all participants in the infirmary while on duty Supervise all staff in the Infirmary Understanding of chain of command to ensure staff will default to the person in charge of an area where appropriate (for example: when in an aquatic environment, lifeguards have final say in what is and is not appropriate behavior) EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Experience working with youth ages 7-16 is preferred, but not required Experience working in an outdoor setting is preferred, but not required Experience being part of a successful team is preferred, but not required
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to communicate in English. Does not need to be fluent but must be able to understand needs of youth when expressed and understand safety requirements
