ESY (Extended School Year) Summer Program Paraprofessional- Kindergarten (Temporary) Reports to:
Building Principal/Site Coordinator Program Dates & Schedule :
Professional Learning (Required): June 29, 2026 (5 ¾ hours): Student Program Dates (8 Days): July 7, 8 July 14, 15 July 21, 22 July 28, 29Schedule:
Tuesday/Wednesday program schedule 7:50- 3:10 staff, 8:00

$20.50/hour for professional learning and training $24.60/hour during program hours- certified paraprofessionals as verified thru DEEDS $15.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Implementation & Student Engagement Assist teachers and program staff with summer programming that supports academic learning, enrichment, and student engagement Support student entry, transitions, and dismissal procedures to maintain a safe and structured environment Model and reinforce positive behavior, SEL strategies, and program expectations Encourage participation and support engaging group interactions Student Support & Leadership Development Provide small-group or one-on-one support to students during academic and enrichment activities. Support students with organization, study skills, and personal goal setting. Reinforce positive behaviors and help students build interpersonal and leadership skills. Data, Safety, and Compliance Assist with attendance tracking and other data collection as directed by program staff. Supervise and ensure student safety during daily activities, transitions, and field trips. Maintain reliability, punctuality, and preparedness for each assigned session. Professional Learning & Program Expectations Participate in required professional learning and training. Collaborate with program staff to ensure consistent implementation Perform additional duties as assigned by Site Coordinator, Principal, or District Leadership Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework or paraprofessional certification preferred. Experience working with youth in schools, summer programs, or community organizations. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with elementary, middle, and high school students. Commitment to fostering inclusive, engaging, and safe learning environments. Bilingual skills preferred but not required.
