Job Description

Job Summary Wacousta Elementary is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a 2nd Grade Teacher. This full-time position offers the opportunity to inspire and educate young learners in a supportive and engaging environment. The ideal candidate will foster a love of learning, promote social and emotional development, and create a classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity and collaboration. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and cater to diverse learning styles. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, cooperation, and a sense of community among students. Assess student progress through a variety of methods, providing timely feedback to students and parents. Utilize technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance learning experiences. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to ensure the academic and social success of each student. Manage classroom behavior effectively, implementing positive discipline strategies. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and trends. Communicate regularly with parents through newsletters, meetings, and conferences to keep them informed of their child's progress and school activities. Support and implement school-wide initiatives and programs that enhance the educational experience for all students. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field. Valid teaching certification for elementary education. Experience teaching in a classroom setting, preferably at the elementary level. Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching methodologies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Proficient in using educational technology and digital tools for teaching and assessment. Ability to adapt teaching techniques to meet the needs of diverse learners. Commitment to fostering a safe and nurturing environment for all students. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
