Job Description:
2nd Shift Manufacturing Supervisor (CNC Machining) Full-Time | On-Site | 2nd Shift We are partnering with a growing, high-performance contract manufacturer to identify a 2nd Shift Manufacturing Supervisor to lead CNC machining operations in a fast-paced, high-mix, tight-tolerance environment. This is a great leadership role for someone who thrives on the shop floor, drives accountability, and knows how to get results through people, process, and performance. Position Overview The 2nd Shift Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for leading all machining operations during second shift, ensuring production goals are met across safety, quality, delivery, and cost . This individual will oversee CNC machining teams, drive continuous improvement, and partner cross-functionally to maintain operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Production & Operations Leadership Lead all second-shift CNC machining operations including mills, lathes, and multi-axis equipment Execute production schedules to ensure on-time delivery Monitor key metrics such as OTD, labor efficiency, machine utilization, and scrap rates Identify and resolve bottlenecks, staffing challenges, and material/tooling issues Ensure proper setup verification and in-process quality checks Team Leadership & Development Supervise, coach, and develop machinists, setup techs, and support staff Drive accountability to performance, safety, and quality standards Lead shift start-up meetings and communicate priorities clearly Identify skill gaps and support cross-training initiatives Foster a culture of ownership, professionalism, and continuous improvement Quality & Compliance Ensure adherence to ISO standards and customer requirements Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation Safety Leadership Enforce all safety protocols and OSHA compliance Conduct safety observations and lead incident investigations Promote safe handling of materials, tooling, and equipment Continuous Improvement Drive initiatives to reduce scrap, improve cycle times, and increase uptime Support lean manufacturing and process optimization efforts Recommend tooling, equipment, and workflow improvements Qualifications Required 5+ years of leadership experience in CNC machining environments Strong background in manufacturing operations and shop floor leadership Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills Preferred Machine shop background strongly preferred CNC machining expertise highly preferred Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field preferred 10+ years of CNC or manufacturing leadership experience Work Environment & Physical Requirements Active shop floor environment requiring standing, walking, and occasional lifting Ability to read technical documents, blueprints, and production instructions Strong communication skills with team members across functions Why This Opportunity?
