Job Description
Job Title:
Batch Maker | 3rd Shift | $22+HR Job Description This role serves as a multi‑craft Production Operator on third shift, combining physically demanding batch preparation with technical system operation, in‑process quality assurance, and thorough equipment cleaning. You will prepare and mix ingredients, operate automated systems through an HMI, perform on‑floor QA testing, and execute clean‑in‑place (CIP) procedures to ensure safe, high‑quality food production. Responsibilities Prepare batches by physically opening, lifting, and adding 50‑lb bags of dry ingredients such as powders and sugars into batch tanks. Add liquid ingredients, including liquid sugar, coconut oil, and other components, according to established recipes and procedures. Operate the batch process using a Human‑Machine Interface (HMI) to control and monitor mixing operations. Monitor the mixing process to ensure proper circulation and temperature control as ingredients combine in the vat. Enter ingredient usage and consumption data into the system for accurate tracking and documentation. After approximately 2.5 hours of mixing, route completed batches to one of six batch tanks through system navigation and controls. Collect product samples during production and transport them to the on‑floor QA laboratory for testing. Perform QA testing, including checking water and related product characteristics, to verify that the product meets required specifications. Approve batches that meet quality standards for further processing and escalate any non‑conformances as needed. Essential Skills Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in a regulated food or similar manufacturing environment. Ability to perform basic quality checks and follow established QA procedures. Comfort working on a fixed third‑shift schedule (approximately 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday) Work Environment The facility operates as a food manufacturing plant with a headcount of approximately 160 people, creating a small, family‑oriented feel within a larger global organization. It is an FDA‑regulated environment that emphasizes Good Manufacturing Practices, food safety, and consistent product quality. Automated machinery and systems are used throughout the facility, including batch tanks and HMIs for process control. This role is on the third shift, typically from 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, and involves physically demanding work such as lifting 50‑lb bags and standing for extended periods. As a food production environment, you will wear appropriate protective attire such as hair nets, beard nets (if applicable), lab coats, gloves, and other safety gear while working on the floor. The company embraces a mission‑driven culture focused on the power of food to enhance lives, support health, and respect the planet, with operations spanning numerous brands and countries worldwide.
