3rd Shift Paint Line Associate

Apply Apply Description Job Summary The Paint Line Associate is responsible for preparing, hanging, loading, and unloading metal parts on an automated powder coating line. This role ensures parts are properly staged, handled, and finished to meet quality standards and production schedules. The Loader/Unloader works closely with painters, quality inspectors, and material handlers to maintain efficient workflow through the coating process. Key Responsibilities Load metal parts onto the automated conveyor line according to work orders and racking diagrams. Secure, hang, and space parts to ensure proper coverage during the powder coating process. Unload finished parts from the line, inspect for defects, and stage them for packaging, assembly, or shipment. Handle parts carefully to prevent scratches, dents, or coating damage. Assist with masking, plugging, or prepping parts prior to loading when required. Work with quality control to identify and report coating defects or nonconformances. Maintain accurate counts and ensure correct parts are loaded/unloaded according to schedules. Keep work area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary tools and materials. Follow all safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and use of PPE. Support production flow by communicating issues, shortages, or equipment concerns to supervision. Perform other duties as assigned to support packaging or finishing operations. Qualifications Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior experience in a manufacturing or finishing environment is a plus. Experience with powder coating or automated finishing lines desirable but not required (on-the-job training provided). Understanding of basic powder coating line processes (loading, coating, curing, unloading). Ability to read and follow work orders, job travelers, and loading diagrams. Attention to detail to ensure proper part orientation, spacing, and handling. Good manual dexterity and stamina for repetitive lifting and handling of parts. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment. Basic communication skills for reporting issues and coordinating with team members. Commitment to safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Standing/Walking:
Must stand and walk on concrete floors for 6-8 hours per shift , frequently moving between loading stations, conveyors, and racks.
Lifting/Carrying:
Frequently lifts and carries parts weighing 30-50 lbs ; team lifting required for heavier or oversized items.
Pushing/Pulling:
Regular pushing and pulling of loaded racks, hangers, and carts, requiring up to 50-75 lbs of force .
Reaching/Handling:
Frequent overhead reaching to hang and remove parts on conveyor hooks. Frequent handling and grasping of parts, hooks, and tools.
Repetitive Motions:
High-frequency use of hands, arms, and shoulders to position and remove parts on the line.
Bending/Kneeling:
Occasional bending, crouching, or stooping to pick up or align lower-positioned items.
Vision:
Requires close vision and depth perception to ensure proper placement and spacing of parts.
Hearing:
Ability to hear conveyors, alarms, and verbal instructions in a noisy shop environment. Work Environment Exposure to heat from ovens and fluctuating shop temperatures. Exposure to powder dust, sharp edges, and moving equipment (conveyors, racks). Consistent use of PPE (gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and respirators if required).
