OUTREACH POSITION TITLE
SPECIALIST; 477 SERVICES
OUTREACH DEPARTMENT
WORKFORCE
DEVELOPMENT OBJECTIVE
To meet community members, schools, and local entities across BBNA's service area to present information about available services for Workforce Development, gather and answer questions, and establish network connections while conducting client outreach operations pertaining to the 477 programs within the thirty-one BBNA communities.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE -
Required:
High School Diploma/GED with 3 years of work experience in outreach along with previous experience in hosting or participating in group trainings, community events, or public speaking engagements.
Preferred:
Education or work experience in public relations and/or marketing. Familiarity with or fluency in
Yupik Substitutions:
BBNA may consider any equivalent combination of education, experience, and cultural knowledge. BBNA also reserves the right to waive non-essential requirements in order to select the candidate who best fits the needs of the organization.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Excellent communication skills, both in-person and virtual, strong aptitude for planning and organization. Ability to conduct duties in varied workspaces while maintaining a professional and courteous attitude. Remain adaptable and develop contingency plans for changing travel, personnel, or programmatic requirements. Familiarity with the Bristol Bay Region, cultures, and communities.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY
- Intermediate understanding in Microsoft 365 programs, mobile devices, social media, with general computer literacy. Experience with media creation tools) documentation, flyers, presentations)
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent time management and ability to multi-task.
JOB RESULTS
Achieves Program functions by
  • Developing presentation materials and methods.
  • Engaging with community members both in-person and virtually.
  • Coordinating outreach activities with tribes, schools, and local entities.
  • Understanding and apply BBNA's WFD plan, application process, and service delivery methods to day-to-day activities.
  • Developing, maintaining, and coordinating dissemination of presentation materials pertaining to 477 program services and utilize various platforms for distribution.
  • Developing communication strategies and facilitating community engagement through local event participation, hosting recurring outreach events, and regular dissemination of information.
  • Assist clients with questions regarding WFD's 477 service programs, application processes, and collection of feedback for review.
  • Help clients connect with resources necessary to achieve self-sufficiency through partner agencies and third-party resources
  • Seek out additional partnerships and economic opportunities that would expand WFD's services offering and improve clients' service experience. Keep Management Informed by
  • Maintaining close coordination with Database Services Division Manager and supplying reports as required. Meet requirements for travel in and out of region by
  • Scheduling well planned trips if necessary to provide services, participate in training, and workshops. Monitors and improves program and service quality by
