Full-time Description:
We're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Housekeeper to support our Sanitation team. This role is responsible for keeping common areas clean, safe, and organized. This a great opportunity if you take pride in maintaining a spotless environment and enjoy hands-on work.
Work Schedule:
4:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (Monday - Friday, Saturday's required during our peak season) Summary The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of all food production areas (Main Plant and/or DC Plant) in compliance with Mt. Olive Pickle Co. food safety standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will maintain a clean environment to prevent contamination, uphold product quality, and meet company standards within a fast-paced food manufacturing facility. Essential Functions Duties and Responsibilities
MAIN/DC LUNCHROOM AND BLOCK BUILDING DUTIES
Sweep and then mop floor. Wipe off tables and sanitize them. Clean the glass in all doors coming into the lunchroom. Clean the glass in the doors at the entrance of the plant. Wipe off vending machines, tables and microwave ovens. Empty all trash cans and replace trash can liners. Wash and sanitize all trash cans at least once a week. Sweep floor in lunchroom and in the halls coming into the lunchroom. Mop these floors as well. Clean and sanitize water fountains. Sweep plant entrance and walkway. Pick up trash around steps. Properly handle, dilute, and store cleaning chemicals and sanitation tools Replace soap, and paper towel dispensers. Assist with other facility cleaning tasks as assigned.
MAIN/DC RESTROOMS AND BLOCK BUILDING DUTIES
Sweep and then mop floor. Clean and sanitize sinks, commode, and urine bowls. Replace soap, toilet tissue, and paper towel dispensers. Clean walls in bathrooms as needed.
MAIN/DC OFFICES AND BLOCK BUILDING DUTIES
Sweep and mop floors if necessary.
Trash Removal:
Emptying all trash cans, recycling bins, and replacing liners.
Glass & Mirrors:
Cleaning glass doors, windows, and partition walls as needed.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent(preferred); food safety or sanitation certification is a plus. Previous housekeeping experience or industrial sanitation role preferred. Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and cleaning equipment preferred. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Good communication skills and a positive attitude. Machines, Equipment, Tools Used Dust mop, Broom, Mop, Bucket, Paper towels, Dust cloth, Texize, Glass cleaner, Mint disinfectant, Furniture polish, Trash liners, Feather duster, Step ladder, Vacuum cleaner, Carpet spot remover.
Physical Demands Climbing:
Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.
Balancing:
Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow slippery or erratically moving surfaces. 'This factor is important if the amount and kind of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.
Stooping:
Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerate degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
Kneeling:
Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
Crouching:
Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
Crawling:
Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
Reaching:
Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Standing:
Particularly for sustained periods.
Walking:
Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
Pushing:
Using upper extremities to press against something with steady forces in order to thrust forward, downward, or outward.
Pulling:
Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.
Lifting:
Raising objects from a lower to a high position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
Fingering:
Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.
Grasping:

Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound.
Heavy Work:
Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/ or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and\or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Work Environment:
Indoor environment within a food manufacturing facility. Exposure to food manufacturing machinery, cleaning chemicals, and sanitizers. May require working in temperature-controlled environments (e.g., cold storage rooms, outside). Shift work may be required, including evenings, weekends, or holidays, depending on production needs. Gloves and goggles required in some job tasks. Head cover and beard cover required.
