Job Description
Description Summary The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of all food production areas (Main Plant and/or DC Plant) in compliance with Mt. Olive Pickle Co. food safety standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will maintain a clean environment to prevent contamination, uphold product quality, and meet company standards within a fast-paced food manufacturing facility. Candidate will also, safely operate forklift to transport trash, glass, metal, cardboard, etc. to their appropriate receptacles. Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions Clean and sanitize food production areas, including floors, walls, equipment, and machinery, in accordance with food safety regulations and company policies. Operates forklift always at a reasonable and prudent speed, watching closely for pedestrians or other motorized vehicles. Completes Pre-Operational Checklist each day before operating lift. Reports all forklift damage or malfunction to supervisor. Safely operates forklift to transport trash bins and recycling containers from all areas of the premises to the dumpsters and recycling area and returns bins to the same designated area. Dumps trash, glass and pepper stems into proper dumpsters. Using forklift, loads bulk unbaled cardboard. Uses bailing machines to bail up cardboard and plastic for recycling. Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring that stock is reordered as needed. Report any maintenance or sanitation-related issues to the supervisor or management. Adhere to all company and regulatory standards, including USDA, FDA, and HACCP guidelines, ensuring all sanitation procedures are consistently followed. Other Duties Performs Sanitation Laborer duties as needed. Receives written and verbal instructions on the above job tasks and performs other duties as directed by Supervisor. Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities High school diploma or equivalent(preferred); forklift, food safety or sanitation experience is a plus. Certified forklift operator. Previous experience on a forklift in food manufacturing or industrial sanitation role preferred. Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and cleaning equipment. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Good communication skills and a positive attitude Machines, Equipment, Tools Used Forklift, water hose with nozzle, gloves, goggles, apron, cardboard, plastic bailer, two-way radio.
Physical Demands Climbing:
Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.Balancing:

Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.Reaching:
Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.Standing:
Particularly for sustained periods.Walking:
Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.Pushing:
Using upper extremities to press against something with steady forces in order to thrust forward, downward, or outward.Pulling:
Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.Lifting:
Raising objects from a lower to a high position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.Fingering:
Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.Grasping:
Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.Feeling:

Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/ or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and\or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work Environment Works outside, subject to wide seasonal temperature variations and intermittent wetting from rain and some job tasks. Some contact with dust, grease, oil, dirt, and EPA approved chemicals. Indoor environment within a food manufacturing facility. Exposure to food manufacturing machinery, cleaning chemicals, and sanitizers. Gloves and goggles required in some job tasks. Head cover and beard cover required.
