Length of Work Year 2026-2027 WINTER Employment Type Part Time Job Summary Job Summary A 8th grade girls basketball coach at a comprehensive middle school is responsible for developing student-athletes' fundamental basketball skills while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive competitive spirit. The coach plans and leads practices, teaches game strategies, and supervises student participation during games and tournaments. They create a safe, inclusive environment that supports the physical, social, and emotional growth of all players. Additionally, the coach communicates with school staff, families, and administration, ensures adherence to school and league policies, and encourages academic responsibility alongside athletic participation.

Requirements / Qualifications

Prior coaching experience with school age youth is preferred, though qualified candidates with comparable experience are encouraged to apply.

• NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching & the CA State Component
• Concussion Certificate
• Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certificate
• Valid CPR Certificate
• Valid First Aid Certificate
• Heat Acclimatization Certificate
• TB test
• Guidelines for the Workplace & Youth Sports Protocol & Recommendations (link will be provided)
• Mandated Reporter (Child Abuse Certificate)
