VP of Sales About MetaComet MetaComet builds royalty and rights management software for publishers and revenue-sharing businesses. Our customers include publishers, media companies, gaming businesses, and other IP-driven organizations across North America, the UK, and Europe. We are a small, experienced SaaS company focused on solving complex operational problems for customers. Our sales process is consultative and relationship-driven. We work closely as a team, move quickly, and care deeply about professionalism, follow-through, and customer success. About the Role This is not a high-volume cold-calling role. Success in this position comes from listening well, staying organized, learning customer workflows, following through consistently, and managing opportunities carefully through a structured sales process. You'll work directly with experienced sales and leadership team members, participate in live customer calls and demos, and learn how to manage consultative SaaS sales opportunities from first conversation through close. The strongest candidates are often thoughtful, coachable, detail-oriented professionals, not necessarily traditional 'big personality' salespeople. What You'll Do Manage SMB and mid-market sales opportunities through a structured sales process Conduct discovery calls to understand customer workflows, operational challenges, and business needs Deliver live software demonstrations over Teams and in person Build proposals, pricing, and customer-facing materials Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and activity information in HubSpot Follow up thoughtfully and consistently with prospects throughout the sales cycle Support the VP of Sales on larger or more complex opportunities Conduct targeted outbound outreach and LinkedIn research where appropriate Represent MetaComet at occasional trade shows and industry events Who Tends to Succeed Here Organized communicators who follow through consistently People who enjoy understanding how businesses operate Professionals who are coachable and open to feedback Candidates who like process, structure, and detail-oriented work People comfortable learning software and technical workflows Professionals who work well collaboratively and in person Candidates who prefer thoughtful customer conversations over aggressive sales tactics You Do NOT Need To... Have prior publishing industry experience Be a traditional SaaS salesperson Have years of software sales experience Be an aggressive cold-caller to succeed here Strong candidates may come from customer success, project coordination, recruiting, implementation, operations, consulting, hospitality, publishing, education, or other client-facing professional backgrounds. What We're Looking For 2-4 years of professional experience in sales, customer success, project coordination, operations, consulting, recruiting, implementation, or another client-facing role Strong communication and listening skills High attention to detail and strong organizational habits Ability to manage multiple active opportunities and priorities Professional maturity, accountability, and follow-through Comfort learning new software systems and workflows Curiosity about how businesses operate Willingness to work in person in Northampton five days per week Nice To Have Experience using HubSpot, Salesforce, or another CRM Experience presenting software or business solutions Exposure to SaaS, publishing, licensing, media, or rights/royalty workflows Experience with sales methodologies such asMiller-Heiman, Challenger, SPIN, or Sandler Pay:
