The Account Manager plays a key role in driving growth, strengthening client partnerships, and delivering exceptional logistics solutions across an assigned portfolio of accounts. This position is focused on expanding revenue opportunities, maximizing profitability, and creating long-term value for clients through strategic relationship management and proactive problem-solving.As a trusted partner to customers, the Account Manager works cross-functionally with carrier sales, operations, and internal teams to deliver seamless, scalable transportation solutions that keep freight moving efficiently. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building strong relationships, and is motivated by making a direct impact on both client success and company growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned client accounts, maintaining regular communication and relationship stewardship.Analyze client transportation needs, service performance, and account trends to identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
Develop and implement account strategies to increase wallet share and improve service offerings.
Monitor and report on key account metrics, including volume, revenue, margin, service levels, and customer satisfaction.
Resolve client issues in a timely and effective manner, coordinating with internal teams to address operational or service challenges.
Collaborate with the carrier procurement and operations teams to ensure alignment of services with client expectations.
Prepare and deliver business reviews and performance reports to key stakeholders.
Ensure contract compliance, pricing accuracy, and margin protection.
Support retention efforts by proactively addressing service concerns and identifying potential risks to the relationship.
Maintain accurate client records and interactions in CRM and related systems.
Act as the escalation point for issues involving your assigned portfolio of accounts.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in freight brokerage, logistics, or transportation account management.
Demonstrated ability to grow revenue within existing accounts.
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
Proficient in CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS). McLeod Power Broker experience is a plus.
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends and solve problems effectively.
Understanding of freight modes including truckload, LTL, intermodal, and/or expedited services is a plus.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Standard office environment setting.May require occasional travel to client sites, industry events, or company meetings. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Compensation:
Base Salary:
