Job Description:
Universal Logistics Holdings is a full-service provider of customized transportation and logistics solutions. We provide services including dry van and specialized transportation, intermodal drayage, material handling and value-added services, and global trade management. This position is fully onsite Monday through Friday in Warren, MI.
Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborate daily with managers and leaders while reporting to the Segment Group Controller. Prepare monthly financial packages for subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Manage monthly financial reporting, including account reconciliations and detailed financial analysis. Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities to support strategic decision-making. Support external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Assist in maintaining and improving internal controls to ensure compliance with SOX and company policies. Understand a cost model that lives within multiple systems
What We're Looking For:
Professional Experience:
Proven experience in a publicly traded company with a robust internal control environment. 2-5 years of general ledger and financial reporting experience, preferably in a multi-entity and multi-location organization.
Technical Expertise:
Strong knowledge of US GAAP principles and SOX compliance requirements. Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency with complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis. Experience working with multiple ERP and accounting systems is highly desirable.
Soft Skills:
A proactive mindset with a strong sense of urgency to meet tight deadlines. Exceptional communication skills, with an ability to present financial information clearly to senior leadership and cross-functional teams. A collaborative spirit with the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
