Full-Time About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our CPA firm. This role is ideal for someone early to mid-career who wants to build strong experience in tax preparation, accounting, and client support. You'll work closely with senior team members to prepare returns, assist with financial reporting, and support client needs. This position offers hands-on exposure to public accounting, opportunities to learn from experienced professionals, and a clear path for growth within the firm. Key Responsibilities Tax & Compliance Prepare individual and business tax returns (Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, 1120-S, 1041) Assist with tax filings, extensions, and compliance deadlines Gather and organize client financial data for tax preparation Support responses to IRS and state notices Accounting & Financial Support Assist in preparing and reviewing financial statements Perform basic bookkeeping and account reconciliations Maintain accurate financial records for clients Support month-end and year-end close processes Client Support Communicate with clients to collect required documentation Provide timely updates and assist with general inquiries Support senior staff in delivering high-quality client service Team Collaboration Work closely with senior accountants and managers on engagements Follow established processes and contribute to improving workflows Stay updated on basic tax regulations and accounting standards Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 1-4 years of accounting or tax experience (public accounting preferred) Basic knowledge of tax preparation and accounting principles Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Familiarity with tax or accounting software (CCH or similar is a plus) Preferred Progress toward CPA certification (or interest in pursuing CPA) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Good communication and willingness to learn
