Job Description
Job DescriptionJob Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Accountant / Bookkeeper to manage the financial health and tax compliance of our business clients. In this role, you will go beyond data entry to serve as a trusted advisor, ensuring our clients' businesses are protected and optimized according to current tax laws.
Key Responsibilities Tax Preparation & Filing:
Prepare and file accurate federal and state tax returns for various business entities (e.g., S-Corps, LLCs, Partnerships).Full-Cycle Bookkeeping:
Maintain clean, up-to-date books for clients, including reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and year-end closing.Strategic Advisory:
Provide proactive tax planning and financial advice to help clients minimize liabilities and maximize growth.Compliance & Research:
Stay current on changing tax laws and regulations to ensure all filings are compliant and protect the client from audit risks.Client Consultation:
Meet with business owners to review financial reports, explain tax implications, and answer accounting queries.Requirements Technical Expertise:
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop and Online) and professional tax preparation software.Regulatory Knowledge:
Deep understanding of GAAP and current federal/state tax codes for small to mid-sized businesses.Analytical Skills:
Ability to spot discrepancies, identify tax-saving opportunities, and interpret complex financial data.Communication:
Capable of explaining complex financial concepts to business owners in a clear, actionable way.Qualifications Experience:
3+ years of experience in bookkeeping and tax preparation, ideally within a public accounting firm.Education:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or Enrolled Agent status is a significant plus).Integrity:
