Job Description
Description We are looking for an Accountant to support day-to-day financial operations for a Long-term Contract to possible permanent position. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting specialist who can manage core transactional and ledger activities while maintaining accuracy across financial records. The role will contribute to timely reporting, account maintenance, and routine reconciliation work in a fast-paced business environment.
Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices and payment transactions accurately while helping ensure obligations are recorded and settled on time.
- Maintain accounts receivable records, monitor incoming payments, and assist with resolving billing or posting discrepancies.
- Prepare and post journal entries to support month-end activities and the accuracy of financial statements.
- Reconcile bank accounts and investigate variances to keep cash records aligned with general ledger balances.
- Support general ledger upkeep by reviewing account activity and confirming transactions are properly classified.
- Assist with periodic closing tasks, documentation gathering, and financial record organization for reporting purposes.
- Review accounting data for completeness and follow up on inconsistencies that could affect reporting accuracy. Requirements
- Experience handling accounts payable processes, including invoice review, coding, and payment support.
- Working knowledge of accounts receivable functions and cash application activities.
- Familiarity with general ledger accounting and routine account maintenance.
- Ability to prepare and post journal entries with a high level of accuracy.
- Experience performing bank reconciliations and researching unreconciled items.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage recurring accounting deadlines effectively.
