Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Business Office. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization's financial health. Your expertise will help drive informed decision-making through precise financial analysis, reporting, and reconciliation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work across various accounting disciplines within a collaborative and growth-focused environment. Duties Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements. Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing processes. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of accounts receivable and accounts payable records. Perform financial report writing and interpretation to support management decision-making. Oversee accounts reconciliation processes using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, PeopleSoft, or Sage. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities to optimize cash flow and financial performance. Payroll Processing Billing Statements Requirements Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred. Proven experience in corporate accounting or public accounting roles with a strong understanding of GAAP. Extensive knowledge of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, accrual accounting, and financial statement preparation. Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms; advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are essential. Familiarity with SOX compliance standards and experience supporting regulatory audits or reporting processes. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately. Excellent attention to detail combined with effective communication skills for clear financial report writing and presentation. Ability to mentor team members while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Payroll Knowledge of non-profit accounting practices or governmental accounting is a plus; experience with tax law related to wills, trusts & estate law is advantageous.
