Position Overview:
A well-established and growth-oriented CPA firm in Northern New Jersey is seeking an experienced Public Accountant to join its team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a diverse client base, including individuals, small businesses, and non-profit organizations. The ideal candidate is technically strong in tax preparation and accounting, highly detail-oriented, and capable of managing client relationships in a collaborative, client-focused environment.Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations Manage all aspects of client engagements, serving as a primary point of contact Review client financial records, including QuickBooks files, for accuracy and completeness Prepare and post journal entries and necessary adjustments Develop tax projections for small business clients through analysis of financial statements (Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss) Provide small business advisory and consulting services, including direct client interaction and guidance Utilize tax and accounting software to ensure efficient and accurate reporting Collaborate with team members while also working independently to meet deadlinesQualifications:
Minimum of 3+ years of recent public accounting experience required CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation, or active pursuit of certification, strongly preferred Strong experience preparing business tax returns (required) Proficiency with tax preparation software; UltraTax experience preferred Solid working knowledge of QuickBooks (desktop and online versions) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statement analysisSkills & Attributes:
