Job Description

This full-time position combines accounting and administrative responsibilities to support the agency's financial operations and Representative Payee Program. The role ensures accurate financial management for Social Security recipients, maintains internal accounting processes, supports audit and compliance requirements, and helps sustain efficient day-to-day office operations. The position reports directly to the Director of Finance and Accounting. This is an in-person only position. Essential Duties Accounting Manage deposits and bill payments for approximately 75 Social Security recipients enrolled in the agency's Representative Payee Program using QuickBooks. Prepare individualized monthly budget reports for Social Security recipients using Excel. Train Case Managers on Representative Payee policies and procedures, respond to inquiries regarding account balances, and ensure clients' financial needs are met. Process Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Prepaids for the agency's primary operating account using FEZ accounting software. Bank account reconciliations Assist with monthly funder invoicing. Support the Director of Finance and Accounting during annual financial audits and other agency audits as required. Maintain petty cash accounts and residential client funds. Perform credit card and other account reconciliations. Provide additional accounting and financial support to the Director of Finance and Accounting as assigned. Administrative Purchase office supplies, equipment, and other necessary agency items. Maintain client financial records and perform general filing duties. Open and distribute mail, maintain office organization, and complete other administrative tasks as assigned. Professional Collaboration Foster and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, volunteers, and students. Carry out directives from the Director of Finance and Accounting in a timely and professional manner. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience required. At least 5 years of QuickBooks experience; intermediate proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Word required. Strong ability to prioritize tasks and meet critical deadlines. High attention to detail and strong multitasking skills. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment. Flexibility to work additional hours during peak periods. Ability to navigate two flights of stairs. Comfortable working in a small, shared office environment with regular interruptions. Valid Washington Driver's License, personal vehicle, and active car insurance required for agency-related travel. Compensation & Benefits $39.29 per hour; non-exempt classification. 22 paid leave days annually and 10 paid holidays (prorated based on FTE status). Schedule & Supervision 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Reports directly to the Director of Finance and Accounting.
