Job Description
Accounting Assistant Manager - Grace Village Retirement Community Position Summary The Accounting Assistant Manager supports the Director of Finance in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, effective internal controls, and smooth accounting workflows. This role leads daily accounting activities, supports budgeting and audits, and works directly with the accounting team.
Healthcare / Senior
living accounting experience is desired. Responsibilities General Ledger & Financial Reporting Oversee GL entries, reconciliations, and month-end close. Ensure accuracy across cost centers and entities. Prepare financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis. Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable & Billing Coordinate/Reconcile AP/AR workflows into G/L. Cross Train on AP and Billing procedures for backup coverage. Ensure compliance with internal controls and healthcare regulations. Budgeting & Financial Analysis Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting. Conduct budget-to-actual analysis. Provide financial insights to department leaders. Audit & Reporting Tools Prepare audit schedules and required documentation. Create custom financial and operational reports. Use and support accounting/GL software and reporting systems. Project & Process Management Lead process improvements and financial system projects. Document workflows and support system enhancements. Team Leadership Supervise, train, and mentor any new accounting staff. Coordinate workflows and suggest improvements if applicable. Promote accuracy, collaboration, and accountability across the team. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3-5 years of accounting experience. Experience supervising an accounting team. Strong skills in GL systems, AP/AR, and reconciliations. Ability to build custom reports. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Preferred Non-Profit accounting experience. Familiarity with healthcare accounting software. Healthcare or senior living accounting experience.
