Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk with a focus on deal capping to join our team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring all vehicle deals are accurately reviewed, processed, and finalized in compliance with company and manufacturer standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced dealership environment and has a strong understanding of automotive accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and cap retail and wholesale automotive deals for accuracy and completeness Verify deal structure including pricing, fees, taxes, rebates, and lender funding details Ensure all required documentation is complete, signed, and compliant with state and lender regulations Post deals into the accounting system and reconcile schedules Coordinate with sales and finance departments to resolve discrepancies or missing information Track funding status and follow up on outstanding contracts or receivables Maintain accurate records of deals, contracts, and related documentation Assist with month-end closing by ensuring all deals are processed and posted in a timely manner Support audits and internal compliance processes related to deal files DMV auditing Bank reconciliation and balancing Accounts payable.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred) Strong understanding of automotive deal structures, contracts, and compliance requirements Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and dealership management/accounting software Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with sales and finance teams Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
