Purpose:
(General description and summary) At New Narrative, our financial success is fueled by the accuracy of our facts and figures . That is why we are seeking a qualified accounting clerk to support the daily operations of the finance team . The accounting c lerk will provide accounting and clerical support to the Accounting Department for effective handling of financial records and operations and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close. Our ideal candidate must have an eagerness to learn more about financial planning and budgeting . This person will join a team of like-minded experts who are continually focused on sharpening their skills and advancing their profession .
Accountabilities:
(Responsibilities of the job) Accounts Payable Review s all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment, including reconciling invoices to statements and researching/resolving discrepancies Code s and enter high-volume invoices to appropriate G/L accounts Executes accurate database management in multiple systems Prepare s accounts payable aging report for review to produce weekly check - run Print s , obtains signatures , and delivers AP checks . Void s , stop pays, and reissue s checks as needed Set up recurring entries, auto payments, and online payments as required Vendor set up and maintenance, including requesting and maintaining W-9s for tax ID Reconcile s corporate credit card purchases and resolve credit card issues Respond s in a timely manner to vendor inquiries for internal and external customers Maintains in excellent order all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and corporate accounts payable files Accounts Receivable Reconciles and deposits funds received Assists Senior A ccountant with contracts and revenue processing Property Management Assists with audit of property management records and financial compliance Yardi generalist and liaison between New Narrative finance and Horizon Property Management finance General Assist s in monthly closings and year end audit as required Assists with Daily Cash Recap and monthly bank reconciliations Assists with financial analysis and reporting Assists in processing mail and directing deliveries, packages, and couriers Backup support to other finance roles during their absence Support Finance Director in audit and reporting requirements as needed File, copy and store records as needed Other duties as assigned

Hig h School Diploma required , Associates degree in Accounting or higher/similar preferred
Experience/Qualifications:
One - two years of clerical accounting or related experience Basic k nowledge of financial, tax and accounting principles Workday experience p referred Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook
