Job Description

The Accounting Intern supports daily accounting operations while gaining hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. This role blends transactional accounting responsibilities with exposure to operational finance, including inventory management, costing, and production processes. The intern will also contribute to projects that improve financial visibility and support business decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for a student seeking practical, real-world insight into how accounting functions within a manufacturing setting. This position is a full-time, 10-12 week internship for Summer 2026. Main Function & Responsibilities Assist with Accounts Payable by entering invoices, matching them to purchase orders, and verifying pricing and quantities Support Accounts Receivable by applying cash receipts, monitoring aging reports, and assisting with follow-ups Perform daily transaction entries, including journal entries, expense coding, and basic reconciliations Assist with month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and variance analysis (with guidance) Maintain accurate and organized digital records to support audit and compliance requirements Support data accuracy within the ERP system (Infor or equivalent) Collaborate with operations teams to understand production flow, inventory movement, and cost drivers (labor, materials, overhead) Assist with cycle count tracking and review inventory adjustments Participate in projects that improve financial reporting, costing visibility, or operational insights Work cross-functionally to gain a broader understanding of manufacturing finance Requirements Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Basic understanding of accounting principles Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting or ERP systems is a plus Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Willingness to learn and engage with both accounting and operational processes Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities Salary Description $20/hr
