Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to lead core accounting operations for a growing manufacturing and distribution business in Holbrook, Massachusetts. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting cash management, and delivering timely reporting for leadership and banking partners. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, experience working with commission-based sales structures, and confidence handling both domestic and international vendor activity.
Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day accounts payable activities, including payment processing for domestic suppliers and international vendors, with oversight of wire transactions for foreign accounts.
- Oversee accounts receivable operations and guide the team member responsible for invoicing and customer billing accuracy.
- Prepare journal entries, reconcile cash and line of credit accounts, and manage the month-end close process to ensure reliable financial results.
- Generate financial statements, trial balances, and supporting documentation required for monthly and quarterly lender reporting.
- Review and reconcile general ledger accounts while coordinating with the external accounting firm on reporting and audit support needs.
- Produce recurring commission calculations and prepare individual compensation statements for independent sales representatives.
- Support the outside accounting partner with tax-related documentation and schedules as needed for filings.
- Administer multi-state sales and use tax compliance, including the use of Avalara to manage reporting obligations.
- Maintain new customer account setup processes, including credit review, tax status verification, and related account documentation.
- Process weekly payroll for a small employee population and manage access to customer and banking portals used in daily operations.
