Accounting Operations Manager - Restaurant Group

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Operations Manager to lead the financial processes within a vibrant restaurant group. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee comprehensive accounting functions, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and drive financial accuracy across multiple locations. As a key member of our finance team, you will leverage your expertise in various accounting disciplines to streamline operations, enhance reporting quality, and support strategic decision-making, while supporting our Operations Team. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, and cash management. Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and account reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data. Lead the preparation of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), and other regulatory requirements. Supervise payroll processing and manage related tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate payments. Coordinate with external CPA. Utilize advanced restaurant specific accounting software, POS, and tech stack. Support budgeting processes by analyzing financial data, forecasting future performance, and providing insights for strategic planning. Conduct regular reviews of the general ledger to ensure proper debits & credits are recorded in accordance with double-entry bookkeeping principles. Implement process improvements for account reconciliation, financial analysis, and regulatory reporting to optimize operational efficiency. Host weekly meetings with accounting team, operations, and leadership. Skills Strong technical accounting skills including general ledger reconciliation, account analysis, balance sheet management, and account reconciliation procedures. Proficiency in restaurant financial software, Power BI or similar platforms; experience with financial management tools is essential. Demonstrated ability in cash management, forecasting, budgeting, and financial report writing with a focus on accuracy and clarity. Excellent understanding of accounts payable/receivable processes along with payroll administration. Extensive knowledge of GAAP, sales & payroll taxes. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex financial concepts and communicate findings effectively through detailed reports. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; capable of managing multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining high standards of accuracy. Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams while demonstrating leadership in process improvement initiatives.
