High School Diploma or equivalent required (Associate Degree Preferred).Technical & Software Skills:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, with extensive knowledge of Excel. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Google applications. Training/work experience using governmental accounting/auditing procedures, state school accounting software, and automated data processing systems is highly desirable.Experience & History:
Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable preferred. Work history that demonstrates responsibility, reliability, and good attendance.Core Skills & Traits:
Strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently and multitask efficiently. Exhibits consistent, impartial, and resourceful critical-thinking skills. Demonstrates proficiency in spelling, proofreading, and the correct use of grammar.Compliance & Legal:
Embodies high ethical standards/integrity and adheres to Ohio Ethics Law, including strict confidentiality. Complies with drug-free workplace rules, board policies, and administrative guidelines/procedures. Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment. An acceptable score on a pre-employment skill test may be required.RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to Job Description 203 (Assistant to the Treasurer), the successful candidate will assist with the daily operation and management of the Treasurer's office, providing a variety of Accounts Payable functions and support services that entail a high degree of responsibility, discretion, and confidentiality. Accounts Payable & Fiscal Management Process purchase orders. Process invoices and payments, taking full responsibility for making all payments owed. Follow up and resolve any outstanding invoices or statements regularly to prevent delinquent payments. Maintain oversight of District PNC purchase cards to ensure proper use and prompt payment. Review requests, process, and distribute staff mileage and reimbursement checks. Maintain a vendor tax identification file and prepare 1099 forms. Facilitate collaborative work with auditors. Accounts Receivable & Revenue Process receivable accounts and deposits which arrive at the Board of Education. Prepare and make bank deposits. Post district receipts and daily expenditures. Maintain student activity accounts and building fund records. Office Operations & Administration Plan/implement strategies to ensure tasks are completed within required time-frames, keeping the Treasurer aware of work progress and pending deadlines. Address issues that arise during the absence of the Treasurer within the limits prescribed by law. Follow office protocols and monitor record-keeping procedures to ensure accurate and timely retention of program data. Prepare computer-generated documents and maintain an efficient, systematic filing system. Document/maintain asset inventory records, tag fixed assets, and manage/reorder office supplies. Greet/assist office visitors, answer/direct calls, take messages, and ensure the telephone is never left unattended. Prepare letters, memos, notes, emails, and manage calendars/schedules. Process incoming, outgoing, and interoffice mail/faxes and handle light equipment maintenance (photocopies, minor malfunctions). Encourage innovations, evaluate emerging IT, and recommend procedural modifications to enhance accountability. Perform any and all other duties assigned by the CFO/Treasurer.SALARY & CONTRACT
Classified, 260-day employment contract, 8 hours per day. $31.06/hour (Step 0) to $38.82/hour (Step 10). Based on experience and the current Board-approved salary schedule.HOW TO APPLY
