Job Description:
OVERVIEW
The Accounting Supervisor partners with the Controller to manage day-to-day accounting operations and the month-end close process while leading and developing a small accounting team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff; assign work and review output for accuracy and completeness Oversee the full accounting cycle, including month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of monthly P&L statements with variance analysis versus budget and forecast Prepare and submit recurring financial reports to headquarters Support the development of financial presentations Establish, monitor, and maintain effective internal controls Prepare, review, and validate balance sheet and income statement reconciliations Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes Support mid-year and year-end intercompany reconciliations, including related journal entries Assist in preparing tax workpapers for interim and year-end close Record payroll-related journal entries and collaborate with HR on payroll accrual calculations Lead or support special projects as assigned Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy Coordinate internal and external audits; provide documentation and support to auditors Prepare and post financial journal entries Conduct regular team meetings, check-ins, performance reviews, and goal setting
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 4+ years of accounting experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience with ERP systems Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Solid analytical and technical accounting capabilities Ability to work independently with minimal supervision High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information Strong communication and leadership skills Working knowledge of current tax regulations
