General Summary As an SBO Billing Specialist, you will be the primary contact for patients regarding their financial responsibilities such as coinsurance, copays, and deductibles. Your role involves managing inbound and outbound communications to resolve patient inquiries and outstanding balances, explaining contractual adjustments, and offering payment options including monthly plans and bank loan financing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide clear explanations of patient financial obligations and insurance coverage details. Reconcile business banking and credit card accounts accurately. Education A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional training in healthcare billing or customer service is preferred. Experience Previous experience in medical billing is highly desirable. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with billing software and electronic data submission enhance your candidacy. Requirements Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to focus on detailed tasks for extended periods. Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, and occasionally lift items up to 10 pounds. Comfort working in a standard office environment with occasional exposure to noise and other typical workplace conditions. This position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a regional healthcare system serving a broad community in the Midwest. If you are ready to support patients through their billing journey with empathy and professionalism, we encourage you to apply.
