Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support a busy accounting team in Irmo, South Carolina. This is a Contract position focused on maintaining accurate payables records, processing invoices efficiently, and helping resolve outstanding items so daily financial operations stay on track. The ideal candidate brings hands-on accounts payable experience, works well in a fast-paced setting, and can contribute with minimal training.

Responsibilities:

• Enter and review accounts payable data with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness.
• Process incoming invoices, confirm coding details, and prepare transactions for approval.
• Assign proper general ledger codes to invoices in accordance with established accounting practices.
• Support check run activities by organizing payment batches and verifying payment information.
• Research and help clear older open items to improve the status of outstanding payables.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to keep invoice workflow moving smoothly without disrupting daily operations.
