We are seeking a dynamic and meticulous AR Manager to join our Shared Service Center. The Shared Service Center provides support to the US based companies that operate ready mix concrete and aggregate plants. In the Kansas City area these companies include Quicksilver Readymix and Talon Concrete & Aggregates. All companies are subsidiaries of the publicly-held corporation, Eagle Materials, based in Dallas, Texas. The ideal candidate will be tasked with leading a team of direct reports. The team is currently constructed with three full-time billing specialists and two AR specialists. This position will assist in the execution of processes and procedures and contribute to the overall success of the Shared Service team. Key Responsibilities Areas of oversight include, but are not limited to: Project Management
  • Review the set up of project with the Contract Coordinator. Provide guidance and recommendations when needed. Invoicing and adjustments
  • Credit and Debit Memos Accounts Receivable
  • Collections, Accurate application of payments Support the team: Review and approve all batches prior to posting Month-end close Training of new team members
Weekly and Monthly Tasks:
Issue updated aging's to Plant Controllers based upon agreed delivery timelines. Validate and confirm all invoices and adjustments have been entered for the month. This will include making sure all (if any) suspended orders have been resolved. Complete the volume reconciliation. Reconcile Command computer system once volume reconciliation has been completed. Once all invoices and payments have been posted for the month, the AR Manager will issue a final aging as part of the month end close process.
Troubleshoot issues as needed:
Work to address the root cause and collaborate with all parties to arrive at the fix. Consult with the Finance and/or Sales Team at the subsidiaries to ensure all information is received and accurate: Any adjustments or incorrect information will need to be tracked via Smartsheet for proper workflow tracking. Ensure timely resolution to all matters. Follow up as needed. Process and capture credit card transactions as needed: Daily attention to this is required. Establish goals and expectations for direct reports Ensure compliance with all corporate mandates: Monthly safety card submissions. Other mandates as directed by the corporate office. Collaborate with the Director of Shared Services for the continuous review and implementation of enhanced policies and procedures. Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field is desired 3-5 years of AR Manager experience Experience working with large amounts of data Ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous deadlines, set priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with industry specific software Strong communication skills and the ability to address and resolve misunderstandings and errors in a respectful and professional manner Strong analytical and presentation skills Team-building skills Strong attention to detail All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, protected veteran status, status as an individual with a disability, or any other protected class.
