Full-Time, Non-Exempt Join Johnstone Supply - A Stable, Family-Owned Business Where Your Work Directly Impacts Our Success At Johnstone Supply, Orion Group (JSOG), we're a growing wholesale distribution company that's been serving HVAC and refrigeration contractors across Northern California for decades. We pride ourselves on integrity, strong team culture, and treating people right — both our customers and our employees. We're looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Finance team in Sacramento. This is a key role that keeps cash flowing so our branches and sales teams can continue delivering outstanding service to our customers. What You'll Do (and Why It Matters) Prepare and send customer statements and manage the full AR cycle Apply payments accurately and investigate/resolve discrepancies quickly Make outbound calls to remind customers of invoices that are becoming overdue Monitor aging reports, make collection calls, and help keep bad debt low Process credit applications and support job accounts (including lien releases) Reconcile deposits and assist with cash drawer and bank deposit processes Provide excellent support to branch teams and customers on billing questions Handle general accounting and administrative tasks that keep the department running smoothly You'll play a meaningful role in our company's financial health while working closely with a supportive Finance team led by Sandra Reinhart. What We're Looking For High School Diploma (or equivalent) At least 1 year of Accounts Receivable, bookkeeping, or similar experience Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general office systems Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through Professional phone demeanor and customer service mindset Ability to work independently while collaborating with the team Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with deadlines
Bonus:
Experience in distribution or wholesale is a plus, but not required.
