  • Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our finance team.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Communicates with third party payors as necessary to verify insurance coverage, obtain payment, and identify billing problems.
  • Communicates with clients to resolve billing questions, make payment arrangements, and collect outstanding balances.
  • Fulfills requirements required by medical insurance companies for payment.
  • Learns and utilizes the Brightree software billing management system for online verification and document management.
  • Updates the AR Coordinator relating to information affecting payments from third party payors.
  • Provides information as requested by internal departments regarding client records, credits, or adjustments.
  • Ensures that departmental schedules are followed, and deadlines are met.
  • Maintains customer awareness when in any areas of the company and assists the customer or seeks assistance for them.
  • Greets and communicates with employees and non-employees in a friendly courteous manner.
  • Seeks assistance from supervisors as needed.
  • Performs as a team member by assisting co-workers with their duties.
  • Understands and follows the employee handbook.
  • Understands department policies, procedures and services as they pertain to the billing department.
  • Maintains a safe, neat, and organized work area.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the rules/regulations of various third-party payors.
  • Accepts other duties as assigned or as added in job description
Qualifications:
Age :
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Education :
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience/Knowledge :
Minimum Qualifications :
AR medical billing and collections experience Knowledge of health insurance policy documentation requirements and explanation of medical benefits Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills Excellent communication skills for daily interaction with customers and payers Excellent computer skills Must be detail oriented and possess the ability to multi-task Must possess time management skills and the ability to work independently and as a team member
Preferred Qualifications :
Proficient with AR medical billing as it pertains to HME business Proficient with health insurance policy requirements (Medicare, Medicaid, medical providers)
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit, bend, and stand easily. Must be able to lift 35 pounds. Must be able to operate a computer keyboard and view a monitor 8-10 hours/day. Must be able to use various filing systems to re-file and pull documentation.
