Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Activities Aide to join our dedicated team in providing engaging and meaningful activities for residents in an assisted living or long-term care environment. In this vital role, you will create a vibrant atmosphere by planning and facilitating a variety of recreational, social, and therapeutic activities tailored to residents' needs. Your enthusiasm and compassion will help enhance residents' quality of life, promote social interaction, and support their emotional well-being. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and lead diverse recreational activities that promote socialization, cognitive engagement, and physical activity for residents. Assist with the development of activity calendars that align with residents' interests, abilities, and care plans. Foster a warm, inclusive environment by encouraging participation and building meaningful relationships with residents. Collaborate with care staff to ensure activities support individual care goals, including memory care and dementia-specific programming. Help coordinate special events, outings, and therapeutic programs such as recreational therapy sessions. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) when needed, including mobility assistance and personal engagement. Maintain accurate records of participation, resident feedback, and activity outcomes to inform ongoing programming. Requirements Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home settings, or long-term care environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, memory care strategies, dementia care practices, and senior care principles. Strong skills in event planning, recreational therapy, and working with individuals with disabilities or aging issues. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage residents and collaborate with team members. CPR/First Aid Certified Ability to manage schedules efficiently while adapting activities to meet changing resident needs. Compassionate caregiving attitude with a genuine desire to improve residents' quality of life through engaging activities. Experience assisting residents with ADLs such as dressing, grooming, or mobility is a plus. This role is perfect for motivated individuals who thrive in dynamic environments where they can bring joy and purpose to others every day!
