Job Description

Wadsworth Glen in Middletown is hiring part-time Activities Assistants to join our recreation team! 24 hour and 16 hour a week shifts available. Weekly pay at $17.85. As an Activities Assistant, you will assist in planning, organizing, and directing recreational activities for our residents, ensuring their physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being is maintained.
Experience & Education:
Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent. We can train the right candidate!
Duties & Responsibilities:
Coordinate and run events and activities programming Build relationships with residents to tailor programming to their interests and desires Organize group and individual programming Generate ideas for exciting and engaging activities Encourage residents to participate in activities that stimulate their potential Assist with establishing resident care goals within the framework of the therapeutic team Document and report any unusual or significant findings Report all reportable events immediately
Specific Requirements:
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Must be at least 18 years old. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. Must be knowledgeable in the Privacy Rule and ensure all staff comply with facility privacy practices policies and procedures. Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning. Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing policies and procedures. Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition. Must participate in continuing education and inservice training.
