• Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Assistance professional to enrich the lives of residents in a senior living or assisted living community.

This role is vital in creating engaging, safe, and meaningful experiences for seniors during weekend hours. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine desire to support older adults, especially those with memory care needs such as Alzheimer's and dementia. You will play a key role in fostering social interaction, promoting well-being, and supporting residents' daily activities through thoughtful planning and compassionate caregiving. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and facilitate engaging recreational activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities, including social outings, games, arts and crafts, music sessions, and exercise programs Assist residents with daily living activities (ADLs), such as mobility support, dressing, grooming, and medication reminders when necessary Provide companionship and emotional support to residents during weekend hours, ensuring they feel valued and connected Collaborate with nursing staff and care teams to monitor residents' health status and report any concerns related to behavior or well-being Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure a smooth flow of events while accommodating individual needs and preferences Support residents with memory care challenges by implementing specialized activities that stimulate cognition and promote independence Maintain accurate documentation of activities conducted and resident participation for care records Skills Strong background in event planning with the ability to create diverse recreational programs for seniors Experience working in assisted living facilities or nursing homes, particularly with long-term care or memory care units Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, and aging issues to tailor activities appropriately Excellent communication skills to engage residents effectively and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Compassionate caregiving skills with an understanding of assisting residents with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) Ability to manage schedules efficiently while remaining flexible to changing resident needs Familiarity with recreational therapy techniques that promote cognitive health and social engagement Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs within a senior care setting Join us in making weekends vibrant and meaningful for our residents!
