Overview:
The activity aide will promote the wellbeing and functional independence of each resident, by developing, supervising and delivering the community's activities programs. The goal of these activities and services is to ensure the health, welfare, safety, and satisfaction of our residents. Also, make sure that we follow all regulations as set forth by the Department of Human Services.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for creating monthly activity calendar and listing events Organize, participate in, and ensure the delivery of the facility's activities programs Create and maintain monthly bulletin boards for both Traditional Unit and Memory Care month to month Create and maintain activities for both Memory Care and traditional care Units Track residents' attendance and participation at each activity on the provided participation sheet, if resident does not attend do one-on-one activities Conduct an interview upon admission to assist in determination of their socialization needs. Provide leadership, training and coordination of volunteer services/add to monthly calendar Responsible for organizing and scheduling all family activities. Must be responsible for all fundraising for the activity department Must complete all orientation and training requirements as outlined by state regulation and facility's policies and procedures. Help dietary staff serve lunch to the residents Maintain safe, clean and organized activity storage room. Inventory all items for current and future activities Leading daily activities such as arts, crafts, music, games, exercise and gardening, any outdoor activity Making food lists and supply lists based off inventory of food and supplies and giving them to the perspective person to order each week or month Answer telephone calls and give messages to the proper person When management meetings are in place, messages are taken and meetings are not interrupted Pass water to residents when required Fill out all daily medical forms for outside appointments File all papers in physical charts Daily mail delivery to residents/make sure family signs for mail as they come in Greet visitors that come into the building, direct all new visitors and admissions
ATTEND TO OTHER DUTIES AS STATED BY THE ADMINISTRATOR
Required Skills, Education, and Experience:
High school diploma or GED equivalent 1 year experience in social/recreational activities preferred but not required we will train Experience with activity programming for seniors, in residential setting, preferred but not required will train Word Processing and or/desk top publishing skills preferred Previous experience in a residential setting preferred but not required Must be outgoing, crafty, and able to plan multiple things, and multitask Additional Details
