Position:
Activity Aide An Activity Aide develops, modifies, evaluates, and implements activity programs that embrace and fulfill the social needs and interests of the senior population living in and visiting the Community.
Job Description:
Assists with planning a comprehensive program that includes individual and group activities that meets the needs and interests of the residents. Plans and directs activities. (Escorts residents to and from activities as needed). Supervises volunteers helping with in-house activities and on community outings. Provides one-to-one activities for residents who are not participating in group activities. Performs duties in a professional manner in compliance with the facility and Therapeutic Recreation Department policies and procedures. Maintains a safe and healthy environment for all residents, following all Wisconsin Health Department regulations. Maintains quality daily attendance/ behavioral records. Posts monthly program calendars and maintains good communication with all departments. Assists with setting up and decorating for activities and special events. Attends and participates in Therapeutic Recreation Department staff meetings and in-service training. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Ideal candidates will have:
Experience in activities in a senior living facility and/or memory care A passion for working with people Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships Effective communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal Problem-solving skills The ability to remain calm and adapt to changing situations Ability to work under stress while remaining caring and kind Ability to understand and work in a variety of situations in a positive and constructive manner Excellent organizational skills with the ability to set and meet deadlines Ability to be imaginative, creative, and innovative Musical/ arts & crafts experience preferred
