Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Acute Access Team Lead is responsible for providing day-to-day guidance and support to the staff involved in registration for acute settings, including inpatient, emergency department (ED), surgical, oncology, and rehabilitation areas. This position ensures the accuracy of patient data, adherence to compliance standards, and the delivery of a positive patient experience. The Team Lead plays a pivotal role in resolving patient concerns, supporting staff training, and maintaining efficient workflow processes.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate or bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as healthcare administration, social work, public health, or a related area is preferred.Certification:
No specific licensure is required, but certifications in healthcare access management or practice management are advantageous.Licensure:
Association• accredited course in Basic Life Support (BLS) (for clinical staff), or Heartsaver CPR AED (for nonclinical staff), and renewal on a regular basis, with up to a three-month grace period after the expiration date.Skills:
Comprehensive knowledge of acute care workflows and registration processes. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively mentor and guide team members. Excellent problem-solving abilities to address and resolve patient concerns. Ability to monitor and ensure compliance with workflow and regulatory standards. Flexibility and ability to travel between facilities as required.Work Experience:
Minimum of 2 years' experience in acute registration or a similar role within a healthcare environment. Demonstrated experience in leading or mentoring staff is desirable.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
: Oversee the daily registration activities within inpatient, ED, surgical, oncology, and rehab areas, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Ensure the accuracy of demographic and insurance information during the registration process. Resolve patient concerns effectively and escalate complex issues to higher management as necessary. Mentor and support the training and onboarding of new registration staff, fostering their development and integration into the team. Monitor and ensure compliance with established workflow procedures and regulatory requirements, maintaining high standards of registration services.NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTION S
