Position Summary:
The Brennan School of Business at Dominican University is seeking a part-time Adjunct Faculty Member to teach FIN 605 - Financial Management, a required course for all students completing the Masters in Business Administration degree. The course meets Monday, 6:30pm-9:20pm, in a face-to-face format. The ideal candidate will be based in the Chicagoland area to engage directly with students. The adjunct faculty member may collaborate with senior departmental faculty to review and enhance course materials, case studies, and software specific to this course.
Responsibilities:
Adjunct faculty are responsible for the following: Adhering to the university policies, procedures, and university calendar with respect to reporting information to university offices\Administering student evaluation, timely and accurate submission of required paperwork related to instruction, including grades and course evaluations. Grading weekly assignments, responding to student emails and phone calls promptly and providing feedback in a timely manner. Preparing course materials, including writing test questions and delivering assignments appropriate to subject matter Meeting with students and hosting office hours Adhering to the goals and objectives of the course, including delivery of assessments to the Department Chair and senior faculty in the department
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a closely related field from an accredited institution Demonstrated professional experience in finance, financial analysis, corporate finance, investment management, or a related field Ability to teach in person at our River Forest, IL campus on Monday evenings
Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of three years of professional experience in corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, investment management, banking, or a related discipline Prior teaching, training, mentoring, or guest lecturing experience that demonstrates the ability to translate complex financial concepts for graduate-level students Familiarity with instructional technology, including learning management systems such as Canvas Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage a diverse student body Physical Demands Ability to spend long durations of the workday sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times Salary and FLSA Status Adjunct faculty are compensated on a per-course basis.
Salary:
$3,000-$3,600 (depending on degree attained and experience, particularly university-level instructor-of-record experience).
