Job Description This adjunct position will teach courses for the Communication Studies Program and/or mentor concurrent enrollment instructors in the College Now program. This position may teach the basic oral communication course, COMM 110 Essentials of Public Presentations in a variety of delivery formats (face-to-face, online, etc.). Essentials of Public Presentations Course. Instructors must follow programmatic standards in courses they teach and/or mentor and work from a common curriculum developed by the program. Instructors should be available to students and mentees outside of class time. Minimum Qualifications Applicants must have a master's degree in Communication Studies or a closely related discipline, or a master's degree with 18+ graduate credits in Communication. Applicants for mentoring College Now instructors must be able to travel to on-site visits within the state of Minnesota and attend an annual summer workshop on the Southwest Minnesota State University campus. Applicants should have experience teaching college-level Communication courses. Applicants should have an appreciation for liberal arts education. Applicants should be able to work productively and collegially with a variety of stakeholders, including students, faculty, and administrators. Preferred Qualification Preference will be given to applicants who can teach classes on campus in Marshall, Minnesota. Preference will be given to applicants who can document effectiveness in teaching online.
