Job Description
BG Consulting Services, LLC is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support an IDIQ contract with the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This position includes responsibilities aligned with entry- to mid-level administrative support functions. The individual shall have demonstrated knowledge of Federal Government office policies, processes, and procedures, and the ability to quickly learn and apply new processes. The role includes performing administrative, clerical, and related duties in support of a specific government team, event, or office. The ideal candidate possesses strong written and oral communication skills, applies sound business judgment, and demonstrates resourcefulness, creativity, and problem-solving ability. The individual must be able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, and provide exceptional customer service. Office front desk support may also be required. The candidate must be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Performs basic administrative functions such as greeting and directing visitors, fielding phone calls, scheduling meetings, taking minutes, composing memos, developing presentations, generating reports, monitoring invoices and expense reports, filing, faxing, and conducting basic internet research and data entry. Additional duties include multi-tasking across multiple staff members, advanced word processing, spreadsheet management, reviewing and disseminating memorandums, document control, preparing small purchase requests, reviewing draft policies and SOPs for grammar and format, coordinating travel and submitting data into the NIH travel system, compiling office equipment needs, preparing training requests, and maintaining office matrices.Qualifications:
Requires two (2) years of related work experience. High school diploma or GED required. College coursework or degree preferred. Demonstrated experience performing administrative duties independently, with accuracy and attention to detail. Experience working with the Federal Government (NIH preferred) or a Federal Contractor. Accurate typing skills (minimum 35 wpm). Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), SharePoint, Access, and Adobe Familiarity with government correspondence protocols and style manuals. Strong grammar, spelling, punctuation, and document preparation skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with clients and staff, both on-site and remote.Pay:
